我们考虑与intermediate long wave (ILW)方程相关的初始值问题。我们在加权Sobolev空间中建立了解流的持久性质，并且显示这些性质是尖锐的。我们还处理ILW方程大型解的长期动力学。通过利用virial技术，我们描述解能量在空间中必须沿着时间序列衰减到零的区域。此外，对于外部区域，我们证明了任意时间序列的完全衰减。未在此处处理的剩余区域基本上是强色散和脉冲区域。
