摘要
我们证明了小振幅无限深度定常周期水波相对于长波扰动是不稳定的。这种调制不稳定性早在半个多世纪前由 Benjamin 和 Feir 首次观测到。它仅在有限深度情形被严格证明。我们提供一种完全不同且自洽的方法来证明有限与无限深度情形下水波的光谱调制不稳定性。
