Eggleston (1957) 证明了在欧几里得平面中，如果我们通过周长偏差来测量距离，则逼近凸盘 的最佳凸 边形总是内接于 。我们证明了 Eggleston 论述的类似结论在双曲平面中成立，并给出了一个例子表明它在球面上不成立。
