我们考虑所谓“临界竞争情形”下的反应-扩散竞争系统。其关联的 ODE 系统容许无穷多个平衡点，这使得分析十分复杂。我们首先通过相平面分析证明了“最终单调”行波的不存在性。接着，我们研究具有紧支集初值的柯西问题解的大时间行为。我们不仅揭示了“较快”物种排挤“较慢”物种（具有已知的传播速度），而且给出了该解轮廓的精确刻画，从而揭示了一种新的“隆起现象”。
