摘要
线性群的有限子群的经典 Jordan 界的一个推论是，在每个维度 n 中，仅有有限多个有限单群允许在 n 维球面上有忠实的线性作用。本文证明了作用于任意同调 n 维球面的光滑作用的一个类似结论：在每个维度 n 中，仅有有限多个有限单群允许在某个 n 维同调球面上，特别是在 n 维球面上，有忠实的光滑作用。我们还讨论了允许在 3、4 或 5 维同调球面上有作用的有限单群。
