模拟孔隙尺度生物膜生长的抛物型变分不等式系统的数值分析

摘要

本文考虑一个由两个方程耦合的非线性扩散–反应偏微分方程(PDE)系统,该系统模拟生物膜的生长与营养物质的消耗。在关注的尺度下,生物膜密度受逐点约束,因此生物膜 PDE 被表述为抛物型变分不等式。我们推导了耦合非线性系统的有限元(FE)近似的严格误差估计,并通过实验证实数值近似以预测速率收敛。我们还展示了在类似孔隙尺度几何的域中追踪自由边界以及检验不同建模假设的模拟。
