研究了通过分子束外延(MBE)生长的GaN和InN纳米线的形貌、光学和输运性质。强调了两种材料在生长参数和优化程序方面的差异。通过其光学性质研究了纳米线的晶体质量。给出了输运特性的比较。针对每种材料，展示了一个能带示意图，该示意图考虑了输运和光学特性，并基于表面费米能级钉扎效应。
