将 Sutherland 近似应用于范德华力，推导了填充半无限空间并与真空接壤的液体中的自洽 Vlasov 型场。随后推导并求解了 ensuing Vlasov 方程，以预测液 - 真空气界面处及其附近的密度行为。文中还给出了 Vlasov 方程的数值解，展示并讨论了密度剖面。
