摘要
本文是一个两部分系列的第一篇。本文中，我们证明任意有限生成（但不必有限展示）的群的Assouad-Nagata维数至多为2。在下一篇文章中，我们利用这一结果以及经典小消去理论的技术，回答有限生成群的渐近维数与Assouad-Nagata维数研究中的两个公开问题。
