Fano 簇是代数簇的“原子碎片”，即可以由多项式方程定义的形状。我们描述了计算与数据库方法在 Fano 簇的构造与分类中的作用，重点强调具有称为 Q-Fano 三维簇的轻微奇异性的三维 Fano 簇。Q-Fano 三维簇的分类已开放数十年，但近期取得了显著进展。这些进展将计算代数几何与大规模数据分析，同源自理论物理的新思想相结合。
