本文比较了多种历史坐标，在这些坐标下 Schwarzschild 度规在整个延拓时空中是正则的，并以图形方式展示了等坐标超曲面。虽然 Kruskal 形式（较晚出现的形式之一）可能是最简单的，但其他每一种形式都有一些有趣的特征。
