摘要
本文阐述一个人对拓扑群理论当前图景的看法。我们综述了一些近期进展，这些进展从我们的视角看指示了未来的方向，聚焦于拓扑群在紧空间上的作用、拓扑群的嵌入、自由拓扑群以及“庞大”群（如紧空间的同胚群与各种度量空间的等距群）。
