南极 BICEP3 CMB 偏振计的光学特性

BICEP3 是一台小孔径折射式宇宙微波背景(CMB)望远镜,旨在通过制作高灵敏度的偏振图来探测来自暴胀引力波的潜在 B 模信号。它是南极 BICEP/Keck Array 系列 CMB 实验的最新成员,该系列迄今已提供了对暴胀的最严格限制。在 2016 年观测季,BICEP3 配备了全套 2400 个在 95 GHz 下工作的光学耦合探测器。在本文中,我们利用 2015-2016 年夏季部署期间使用热斩波源在现场获取的校准数据,报告了其远场波束性能。我们生成了高保真的单探测器波束图,展示了阵列平均波束轮廓,并表征了共置的正交偏振探测器之间的差分波束响应,该响应是成对差分实验中主要的仪器系统误差来源。我们发现,差分指向、波束宽度和椭圆率的水平与 BICEP2 和 Keck Array 的测量值相似或更低。BICEP3 差分波束失配的幅度与分布,以及在分析中温度到偏振泄漏可被边缘化或扣除的程度,将为配备数以千计探测器的下一代 CMB 实验的设计提供参考。
