BICEP3 是一台 520 mm 孔径、紧凑型双透镜折射望远镜,设计用于在 95 GHz 观测宇宙微波背景(CMB)的偏振。其焦平面由天线耦合过渡边缘传感器(TESs)的模块化瓦片组成,类似于 BICEP2 和 Keck Array 中使用的器件。与 BICEP2/Keck Array 相比,由于其更快的 f/1.7 光学系统和更大的孔径,单接收器光学通量增加,使 BICEP/Keck 项目的综合成图速度提高了一倍以上。BICEP3 接收器最近升级为完整的 20 个探测器瓦片(2560 个 TESs),目前正在南极开始其第二年的观测(也是第一个科学观测季)。我们报告其当前的性能和观测计划。鉴于其高单接收器通量同时保持紧凑设计的优势,BICEP3 级接收器非常适合作为第三代 CMB 实验的构建模块,该实验由跨越 35 GHz 至 270 GHz 的多个接收器组成,探测器总数达数万个。我们介绍了这样一个阵列的计划,即将在南极取代 Keck Array 的新型“BICEP Array”,包括设计优化、频率覆盖以及部署/观测策略。
