我们报告 BICEP3 仪器的设计与性能,及其于 2016 至 2018 年收集的首三年数据集。BICEP3 是一台口径 52cm 的折射望远镜,设计用于在 95GHz 度角尺度上观测宇宙微波背景(CMB)的偏振。它于 2016 年在南极开始科学观测,配备 2400 个天线耦合跃迁边沿传感器(TES)辐射热计。该接收机首次演示了诸如大直径氧化铝光学元件、Zotefoam 红外滤光片与磁通激活 SQUID 等新技术,相较 Keck 设计实现了约 10×10\times 更高的光学通量。BICEP3 在 2016、2017 和 2018 年分别达到 9.2、6.8 和 7.1μKCMBs\mu\text{K}_{\text{CMB}}\sqrt{\text{s}} 的仪器噪声等效温度,以及 5.9、4.4 和 4.4μ\muK-arcmin 的斯托克斯 QQUU 图深度。合并三年数据集在 585 平方度的有效面积上实现了 2.8μ\muK-arcmin 的偏振图深度,这是迄今在 95GHz 上最深的 CMB 偏振图。
