BICEP是一个地面毫米波辐射热测量阵列,旨在探测宇宙微波背景(CMB)极化中在度级角尺度上的原初引力波信号。目前,BICEP正在南极进行第三年的运行,在天空中最洁净的2%区域内,以100和150 GHz频率以前所未有的灵敏度测量CMB极化,并通过在银道面内外选择观测,对弥散极化前景进行独立约束。本文在严格控制系统误差的背景下讨论了仪器校准,并回顾了实验前两年的性能表现。
