摘要
我们对 M. Rieffel 提出的一个问题给出了否定解答，该问题询问巴拿赫代数的右拓扑稳定秩和左拓扑稳定秩是否必须始终一致。我们的例子发现于一类巢代数中。我们表明，对于许多其他巢代数，其左和右拓扑稳定秩均为无穷大。我们将后一结果推广至 Popescu 的非交换盘代数以及自由半群代数。
