摘要
描述了计算日益增大的随机厄米有限带宽矩阵的极限谱（或其 Shannon 变换）这一开放问题。一般来说，无论其大小如何，这些矩阵在其主对角线周围都包含有限数量的非零对角线。提出了两种可以使用此类矩阵建模的不同通信设置：一个简单的蜂窝上行链路信道和一个时变符号间干扰信道。回顾了直接处理此类信道的近期信息论著作。最后，列出了此类矩阵仍未知的极限谱的几个特征，并触及了一些思考。
