摘要
MAJORANA 合作组组装了一个高纯锗探测器阵列,用于在 Ge 中搜寻无中微子双贝塔衰变,目标是确立基于 Ge 的下一代吨量级实验所需的本底与可扩展性。MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR 由 44 kg 高纯锗(HPGe)探测器(其中 30 kg 富集 Ge)组成,采用低噪声 p 型点接触(PPC)几何结构。探测器分置于两个模块中,封装于南达科他州 Lead 市 Sanford 地下研究设施内的单一铅与高纯铜屏蔽体中。在 2015 年 6 月启动的调试运行之后,完整探测器阵列自 2016 年 8 月起开始获取数据。我们将讨论 MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR 的状态及首次物理运行的初步结果;包括当前本底估计、奇异低能物理搜寻、DEMONSTRATOR 物理探测范围的预测,以及对吨量级基于 Ge 的无中微子双贝塔衰变搜寻的意义。
