摘要
观测到无中微子双贝塔衰变将解决中微子的 Majorana 属性问题,并可提供关于中微子质量绝对标度的信息。Majorana 实验的初始阶段被称为 Demonstrator,将在南达科他州 Lead 市的 Sanford 地下实验室 4850' 水平处的超低本底屏蔽环境中容纳 40 kg 的 Ge。Demonstrator 的目标是确定未来的 1 吨级实验是否能在围绕 76Ge 无中微子双贝塔衰变峰的一个狭窄感兴趣区域内,实现每吨 - 年一次计数的本底目标。
