摘要

无中微子双贝塔衰变搜寻在确定中微子性质方面起着重要作用,特别是中微子的Majorana或Dirac属性以及中微子质量的绝对尺度。这些搜寻的后果超越中微子物理,对大统一理论和轻子生成有影响。Majorana合作组正在组装一个低本底高纯锗(HPGe)探测器阵列,以搜寻 76^{76}Ge中的无中微子双贝塔衰变。Majorana Demonstrator目前正在南达科他州Lead的Sanford地下研究设施建设和调试,将包含44 kg(其中30 kg富集 76^{76}Ge)的HPGe探测器。其主要目标是证明吨级锗实验所需的可扩展性和本底,这通过模块化设计以及感兴趣区域内预计小于3 cnts/tonne-yr的本底实现。该实验目前正使用其首个富集探测器获取数据。
