Majorana 验证装置状态与初步结果

摘要

Majorana 合作组正在使用高纯锗探测器阵列来搜寻 76Ge 中的无中微子双贝塔衰变。搜寻无中微子双贝塔衰变被理解为检验中微子 Majorana 性质的唯一可行实验方法。观测到该衰变将意味着轻子数破坏、中微子本质上是 Majorana 粒子,并提供关于中微子质量的信息。Majorana 验证装置包含 44.1 kg 的 p 型点接触锗探测器(其中 29.7 kg 富集 76Ge),外围为低本底屏蔽系统。该实验实现了将 raw Ge 材料转化为探测器的高效率,以及在 Qββ_{\beta\beta} 处 2.5 keV FWHM 的空前探测器能量分辨率。Majorana 合作组于 2016 年开始获取物理数据。本文总结了验证装置的关键建造方面,并展示了初始数据的初步结果。
