令“Faulhaber公式”指代用n(n+1)/2中的项写出的整数幂和表达式。最初，作者用Faulhaber公式解释奇Bernoulli数为何等于零。随后，Cereceda给出了该结果的另证，并证明了逆定理：若奇Bernoulli数等于零，则可导出Faulhaber公式。此处，原作者将用部分和与数学归纳法给出该逆定理的新证明。
