MAJORANA演示器的本底模型

摘要

MAJORANA合作组正在建造一个包含44千克高纯锗(HPGe)探测器的系统,以验证未来吨级实验的可行性与潜力,该实验能够将中微子质量尺度探测至约15 meV。为实现这一目标,MAJORANA演示器的一个主要目标是展示一条途径,以在Q值2039 keV周围4 keV感兴趣区(ROI)内达到或低于1 count/(ROI-t-y)的本底率。这一目标通过结合显著降低建筑材料中的放射性杂质以及本底抑制分析方法来追求,例如利用p型点接触HPGe探测器技术提供的强大脉冲形状分析技术。这些方法的有效性通过模拟不同本底成分来评估,其纯度水平由放射性分析测量约束。本文展示了演示器工程运行期间获得的初步本底结果。
