通过利用渐近逼近法（Barlow 等人，2017，Q. Jl Mech. Appl. Math, 70 (1), 21-48），获得了 SIR 传染病模型的精确闭式解。该解通过对发散幂级数解进行解析延拓而得到，使其与传染病模型的长时间渐近行为相匹配。该解析形式的实用性通过其应用于 COVID-19 大流行而得以展示。
