或许 1970 年代至 1980 年代初表示论中最重要的课题是确定 Verma 模中合成因子的重数。该问题由 Kazhdan-Lusztig 猜想的证明所解决，该猜想指出重数可通过 Kazhdan-Lusztig 多项式计算。在本文中，我们引入带符号的 Kazhdan-Lusztig 多项式，它是 Kazhdan-Lusztig 多项式的一种变体，除合成因子重数与 Jantzen 滤过层次外还编码了符号信息。仔细考察 Gabber 与 Joseph 对 Kazhdan 和 Lusztig 计算 Kazhdan-Lusztig 多项式的归纳公式的证明，导出了带符号 Kazhdan-Lusztig 多项式的归纳公式。我们利用这些多项式计算不可约最高权模上不变 Hermite 形式的符号。此类公式可应用于酉性检验。
