施加的辐射激发“空穴”。在激发通道中形成的凝聚复合 (c)-玻色子创建超导态，能隙为其提供能量。超导玻色子抑制低温下的非凝聚 c-玻色子，但无法抑制基底通道中的 c-费米子，伴随霍尔电场的微小正常电流导致 B 型线性霍尔电阻率。
