给定一类对象，模式定理是描述其结构的有力结果。我们证明交错纽结满足一个模式定理，并利用该结果证明了一个长期存在的猜想，即交错纽结渐趋稀少。考虑到当前对纽结图精确计数的障碍，这是 Sundberg 与 Thistlethwaite 于 1998 年以及 Thistlethwaite 于 1998 年关于交错链环的一对定理在当前最好的类比。我们还讨论了该模式定理对极小交错纽结图中的子纽结与滑结及其类型的含义，部分回答了 Millett 与 Jablan 的一个猜想。
