NEXT-DEMO 的初步结果:NEXT-100 实验的大规模原型

摘要

NEXT-DEMO 是 NEXT-100 探测器的大规模原型,NEXT-100 是一个电致发光时间投影室,旨在利用 100 至 150 kg 的富集氙气搜寻 Xe-136 的无中微子双贝塔衰变。构建 NEXT-DEMO 是为了验证 NEXT-100 的预期性能,即 2.5 MeV 处优于 1% FWHM 的能量分辨率和事件拓扑重建。在本文中,我们描述了该原型及其初步结果。使用伽马射线校准源,在 10 bar 压力下获得了 511 keV 处 1.75% FWHM 的分辨率(外推至 2.5 MeV 处为 0.8% FWHM)。此外,还展示了沿纵向坐标的事件拓扑基础研究,证明了利用电致发光 TPC 可以在高压氙气中识别电子径迹独特的 dE/dx。
