NEXT-100探测器亚百分比能量分辨率的演示

摘要

NEXT-100是一种具有电致发光放大功能的高压氙气时间投影室,设计在13.5 bar压力下运行,可容纳约70.5 kg的氙气。它是NEXT合作组为寻找Xe-136无中微子双β衰变(ββ0ν\beta\beta 0\nu)而开发的最新探测器。在氙气探测器中,NEXT气体TPC技术在衰变Q值(QββQ_{\beta\beta} = 2458 keV)附近提供了最佳的能量分辨率,设计目标为<1% FWHM。我们在此报告了使用Th-228源对探测器进行的高能标定,展示了线性响应以及在Tl-208光峰(2615 keV)处(0.90±0.02)(0.90 \pm 0.02)% FWHM的能量分辨率。这一性能外推至双β衰变终点处的分辨率R(Qββ)R(Q_{\beta\beta}) = (0.93±0.02)(0.93 \pm 0.02)% FWHM,证实了探测器在搜索ββ0ν\beta\beta 0\nu过程中进行精密能量测量的能力。
