NEXT-100 对无中微子双贝塔衰变的灵敏度

摘要

NEXT-100 是一台电致发光高压氙气时间投影室,将用于搜寻 Xe-136 的无中微子双贝塔(ββ0ν\beta \beta 0 \nu)衰变。该探测器具备对 ββ0ν\beta \beta 0 \nu 搜寻极具价值的两个特征:在 Xe-136 的 QQ 值处优于 1\% FWHM 的能量分辨率,以及用于判别信号与本底事件的径迹重建。如本文所讨论,这一组合带来了优异的灵敏度。材料筛选测量和详细的蒙特卡洛探测器模拟预言 NEXT-100 的本底率至多为 4×1044\times10^{-4} counts keV1^{-1} kg1^{-1} yr1^{-1}。相应地,对于 100 kgyear\mathrm{kg}\cdot\mathrm{year} 的曝光量,该探测器将达到对 \bbonu-decay 半衰期 2.8×10252.8\times10^{25} 年(90\% CL)的灵敏度;或在运行 3 个有效年后达到 6.0×10256.0\times10^{25} 年。
