如何应对假新闻:虚假信息的可视化

摘要

当前公众在应对虚假信息(即所谓“假新闻”)时的焦虑感,由某些群体中对阴谋论的笃信所引发近期事件的反应而尖锐地显现。本文提出一种应对虚假信息的模型;其基于将虚假信息的行为类比于波现象来论证。对抗虚假信息有害效应的基础有两项准则:以怀疑为默认模式、基于折射介质的使用,以及以偏振作为基于证据分析其价值的过滤机制。批判性思维得以增强,因为前者应对确认偏误的有害效应,后者应对归因倾向,二者均削弱我们理性思考与行动的努力。该策略的益处包括将虚假信息认识论地重构为一种独立存在的现象,从而消除当其被视为为群体或个人所持有时的负面意涵。
