摘要
公民科学，即志愿者与专业科学家合作进行研究，由于大型在线数据集而正在扩展。为了规划项目，了解志愿者参与的动机很重要。本文分析了来自Galaxy Zoo（一个天文学公民科学项目）近11,000名志愿者的在线调查结果。结果表明，志愿者的主要动机是希望为科学研究做出贡献。我们鼓励其他公民科学项目研究其志愿者的动机，以了解这些结果是否以及如何推广到公民科学领域。
