摘要
构建能在缺乏稳健证据情形下对决策制定进行综合分析的数学模型十分重要。尽管使用易理解、采用直接解释数值的模型很有意义，我们分析了一个已发表的指标（COVID-19负担指数）并发现其似乎过于简化。所提指标在现有数据下，或可用于地理与行政范围狭窄之处。但将其应用于整个流程及如美洲国家般广阔之地则不准确。理想做法是参照所述临床概念修正并精炼该模型，以利用此提议产生更精确响应，既可作措施实施的输入，也可用于预测如当前般大流行的走势。然而，我们提议在量与适用性上提升模型准确度，并认同“待在家”的概念。互补知识领域间的靠拢应是我们为生成所需新证据而须开启之门。数学不应摒弃临床科学。
