向大群中添加高次幂关系

摘要
一个群若其某个有限指数子群容许到一个非阿贝尔自由群上的满同态，则称为“大群”。本文的主要定理如下。设 G 为有限生成的大群，g_1,...,g_r 为 G 中元素的一个集合。则对无穷多个整数 n，G/<<g_1^n,...,g_r^n>> 也是大群。此外，当 G 为自由群时，这对除有限个以外的所有 n 成立。这些结果对 Dehn 手术有如下应用。设 M 为边界为环面的紧可定向 3-流形。假设通过在其边界上某斜率作 Dehn 填充所得的 3-流形具有大基本群。则这对无穷多个填充斜率成立。
