单电子晶体管（SET）是具有空前灵敏度的纳米级静电计，因此已被提议用作多种量子计算机架构中的读出器件。我们展示了标准SET的功能可以被多路复用，从而同时作为固态量子比特的读出器件和控制栅极。这种多路复用方式可能对于降低可扩展量子计算机架构中的整体栅极密度至关重要。
