YouTube 视频下的评论拥有每月十亿观看者和数百万讨论并分享观点的用户，是观点挖掘与情感分析的丰富数据来源。我们介绍了 YouTube AV 50K 数据集，一个自由获取的、包含超过 50,000 条自动驾驶汽车（AV）相关视频下的 YouTube 评论及元数据的集合。我们描述了其创建过程、内容与数据格式，并讨论了其可能用途。特别地，我们以首例自动驾驶致死事故为例进行案例研究来评估该数据集，并展示我们如何利用此数据集更好地理解公众对自动驾驶汽车的态度以及公众对事故的回应。数据集的未来发展也得到了讨论。
