标题中的问题最初由 Goldman 和 Donaldson 提出，Reznikov 给出了部分解答。我们给出完整解答如下：若群 G 既能实现为某个闭 3-流形的基本群，又能实现为某个紧 Kähler 流形的基本群，则 G 必为有限群，从而属于 O(4) 的有限子群这一熟知列表。
