CUORE实验的预期本底

摘要

低温地下稀有事件观测站(Cryogenic Underground Observatory for Rare Events, CUORE)旨在利用988个在约10 mK温度运行的TeO2低温量热计阵列搜索130Te的无中微子双贝塔衰变。该实验目前正在意大利格兰萨索国家实验室(Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso)A厅进行调试。CUORE的目标是在5年取数后达到对\tect衰变半衰期9×\times1025^{25}年的90\% C.L.排除灵敏度。实现这一目标需解决的主要问题是感兴趣区域内的本底事件率,其必须不高于102^{-2}\,counts/keV/kg/y。我们基于一轮材料筛选、放射性测量和低温量热计测量的结果,开发了一个详细的蒙特卡洛模拟,以评估预期本底。多年来该模拟一直用于指导实验的建造策略,我们在此利用它来为CUORE投影一个本底模型。本文中我们报告了研究结果以及对130Te无中微子双贝塔衰变峰特征所在能量区域的本底率预期。
