Gamma射线天文学中的显著性——贝叶斯统计中的Li & Ma问题

摘要
对已检测到 astrophysical gamma 射线源显著性的计算通常采用Li & Ma于1983年推导的公式。我们以贝叶斯统计方法解决同一问题，这提供了一个在逻辑上更符合要求的框架。我们在本版本的贝叶斯统计中不使用任何主观元素。我们指出，对于大计数数和弱源的情况，Li & Ma公式与贝叶斯结果一致。对于其他情况，两种结果不同，既是由于数学上不同的处理方式，也是由于只有贝叶斯推断能够考虑先验知识。
