Mu2e 实验用无掺杂 CsI 晶体的质量保证

摘要
Mu2e 实验正在构建一个由两盘中 1,348 块无掺杂 CsI 晶体组成的量能器。每块晶体尺寸为 34 x 34 x 200 mm,由大面积硅 PMT 阵列读取。根据物理需求定义了一系列技术规范。预生产 CsI 晶体从三家公司采购:Amcrys、Saint-Gobain 和上海硅酸盐研究所。我们报告了晶体闪烁性质及其对抗电离剂量和中子的辐射硬度的质量保证。无掺杂 CsI 晶体具有 30 ns 的快速衰减时间,以及用双碱 PMT 测得的超过 100 p.e./MeV 的光输出,为 Mu2e 实验提供了具成本效益的解决方案。
