Mu2e 晶体量能器的设计、状态与测试

摘要

费米实验室的 Mu2e 实验寻找在铝核场中负 μ\mu 子转化为电子的无中微子带电轻子味破坏过程。该过程的动力学可由二体衰变很好地建模,产生一个能量略低于 μ\mu 子静止质量(104.967 MeV)的单能电子。该实验的量能器在提供卓越的粒子鉴别能力和在线触发滤波方面起着重要作用,同时辅助径迹重建能力。基准量能器配置由两个圆盘组成,每个圆盘由约 700 块无掺杂 CsI 晶体制成,并由两个大面积紫外扩展硅光电倍增管读出。这些晶体满足响应稳定性、高分辨率和抗辐照硬度的要求。本文介绍了量能器的最终设计。
