Mu2e未掺杂CsI晶体量能器

摘要
费米实验室的Mu2e实验将搜寻原子场中缪子到电子的带电轻子味破坏转换。Mu2e探测器由径迹室、电磁量能器以及包围螺线管以否决宇宙线的外部系统组成。量能器在提供以下方面起重要作用:a)优异的粒子鉴别能力;b)快速触发滤波;c)更简便的径迹室径迹重建。位于径迹室下游的两块圆盘各含674根纯CsI晶体。每根晶体由两组紫外扩展SiPM读取。晶体与SiPM的选择在经过彻底测试活动后已最终确定。一个由51根晶体和102组SiPM阵列组成的首个小规模原型已在弗拉斯卡蒂的BTF(束流测试设施)暴露于电子束。尽管读取电子学非最终版本,结果显示当前设计能满足Mu2e实验所需的计时与能量分辨率。
