摘要
识别个体动物对许多生物学研究至关重要。针对当前识别方法的一些局限性，具有优异性能的新型自动化计算机视觉方法已经出现。在此，我们回顾计算机视觉识别技术的最新进展，为计算机科学家和生物学家提供可用工具的概览并讨论其应用。最后，我们就如何启动动物识别项目提出建议，阐明当前局限，并探讨未来可能如何解决这些问题。
