对称性通常是人类感知的一个重要因素,尤其在图的可视化中也是如此。对称主要有三种类型:反射对称、平移对称和旋转对称。我们报告了一项以人为被试的实验结果,以确定在图绘制中哪些类型的对称更为显著。我们发现具有统计显著性的证据表明,垂直反射对称最具主导性(在垂直反射、水平反射和平移之间选择时)。我们还发现具有统计显著性的证据表明,旋转对称受径向轴数量影响(越多越好),但在四个轴时存在显著例外。
