我们研究离散群的有限 virtually cyclic 子群族的分类空间的最小维数。例如，若群为 virtually poly-Z、字双曲或可数局部 virtually cyclic，我们给出完整回答。我们给出一些群的例子，其有限 virtually cyclic 子群与有限子群的分类空间最小维数之差为 -1、0 与 1，并在许多情形证明不会出现其他值。
