NGTS-4b:一颗在沙漠中凌星的次海王星

我们报告发现 NGTS-4b,一颗次海王星大小的行星,在一颗 13 等的 K 型矮星轨道上以 1.34 天周期凌星。NGTS-4b 的质量 M=M_E,半径 R=R_E,这使其完全位于所谓的“海王星沙漠”之中。该行星的平均密度(g/cm^3)与 100% HO 的组成或具有挥发性包层的岩石核心相一致。NGTS-4b 可能因相对较强的 EUV/X 射线辐照而遭受显著的质量损失。它在海王星沙漠中的存活可能是由于异常高的核心质量,或者它可能在其宿主恒星初始活动消退后通过迁移避开了最强烈的 X 射线辐照。凭借 % 的凌星深度,NGTS-4b 代表了迄今从地面发现的凌星深度最浅的系统,也是广角地基测光巡天中发现的最小行星。
