允许的π介子和μ子衰变的新研究

摘要

基于 PIBETA 实验关于稀有π介子和μ子衰变的结果,PEN 合作组在保罗谢勒研究所进行了 Bπe2=Re/μπB_{\pi e2} = R^\pi_{e/\mu}(即 π+>e+ν(γ)\pi^+ -> e^+\nu(\gamma) 衰变分支比)的精确测量,旨在将目前落后于理论值 40 倍的实验精度缩小至约 6-7 倍。由于巨大的螺旋度抑制,Re/μπR^\pi_{e/\mu} 对非 (V-A) 物理的贡献具有独特的敏感性,使得该衰变成为特别合适的研究对象。即使在当前的精度下,Bπe2B_{\pi e2} 的实验值也提供了现有最准确的轻子普适性检验。在 2008-10 年的运行期间,PEN 已积累了超过 2×1072\times 10^7πe2\pi_{e2} 事件;目前正在进行全面的最大似然分析。新数据还将提高早期 PIBETA 关于辐射π和μ衰变结果的精度。
