π+ → π0 e+ ν 分支比的精确测量

摘要

使用大口径热力学和停止的 π 束流,我们对罕见的 π+ → π0 e+ ν(π_β)衰变分支比进行了精确测量。通过将观测到的 π_β 衰变数与观测到的 π+ → e+ ν(π_{e2})衰变数进行归一化,我们评估了分支比。我们发现 Γ(π+π0e+ν)/Γ(total)=[1.036 ⁣+0.004(stat.) ⁣+0.004(syst.) ⁣+0.003(πe2)]×108\Gamma(\pi+ \to \pi^0 e^+ \nu)/\Gamma(\text{total}) = [1.036 -\!+ 0.004(\text{stat.}) -\!+ 0.004(\text{syst.}) -\!+ 0.003(\pi_{e2})] \times 10^{-8},其中第一个不确定性为统计不确定性,第二个为系统不确定性,第三个为 π_{e2} 分支比不确定性。我们的结果与标准模型预测一致良好。
