摘要
氧化物陶瓷对慢裂纹扩展敏感，因为水分子可在裂纹尖端吸附，导致在潮湿（或空气）条件下表面能大幅下降。这是诸如骨科植入物等严苛长期应用中的一个主要缺陷。本文表明，陶瓷氧化物的特定纳米结构化可带来前所未有的裂纹抗力，类似于共价陶瓷。
